Met Police Angling Society

The Metropolitan Police Angling Society (MPAS) is one of the UK’s longest established police angling societies, bringing together serving and retired police officers, police staff, family members and friends through a shared passion for fishing and the outdoors

While rooted in policing, MPAS is also proud to welcome members from across the wider emergency services and other disciplined organisations, creating a friendly and supportive community united by a love of angling, wellbeing and the outdoors.

The society offers access to a range of stillwater and river fishing opportunities across London and the surrounding counties, catering for anglers of all abilities, from complete beginners through to experienced specimen and match anglers.

MPAS is about far more than fishing alone. The society promotes friendship, social connection and positive mental wellbeing, recognising the important role angling can play in helping people switch off from the pressures of daily life.

Through its “Peace of Mind – One Cast at a Time” initiative, MPAS continues to support mental health and wellbeing within policing, emergency services and the veteran community by creating inclusive opportunities for people to enjoy the benefits of angling in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.
